PRIMARY PURPOSE


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Services

Facilitate the global exchange of information and ideas on credit unions; provide relevant and useful content to member contacts.

Expand World Council capacity to monitor and identify key strategic issues, profile trends, forecast challenges and share best practices. Monitor and identify key/strategic issues in member countries; provide a clearinghouse of information about these key issues. Establish and manage a web-based clearinghouse that members can access to learn how key issues have affected other members, how they were addressed, their experience and lessons learned. Provide issue-specific webinars and workshops for members.

Build connections with member organizations via personal visits, attendance and participation in key events.

Statistical and Information Research

Provide and coordinate delivery of research analysis, credit union statistics and information services. Manages responses to informational requests. Through an annual survey of World Council's membership, collect, compile and disseminate legislative, statistical and taxation information.

Membership Growth

Expand the number of credit union systems that are members. Establish new member growth as both a strategic and an operational priority. Identify prospective members. Encourage and market World Council membership affiliation. Carry out application screening and due diligence of new member applications.

Member Communications

Provide strategic input and direction for member communications; raise the awareness of credit unions. Work with cross departmental teams to build the World Council brand to achieve international recognition as the global credit union champion.

Member Events

Provide creative and effective input for member special events to fulfill World Council's mission to be the world's leading platform for credit union innovation and knowledge exchange.

Department Management

Manage all technical, budgetary and promotional aspects of these tasks. Prepare and submit to World Council's annual work plans and budget proposals annually. Monitor progress against work plan activities and in achieving project goals.


QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to ensure individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education and Experience: Bachelor Degree in business, finance, marketing, international relations or related field. At least 8 years experience in financial and regulatory advocacy, association services, credit unions, and human resource development are required. Demonstrated skills in finance, business management, meetings and special events, oral and written presentations, fundraising management, implementation and evaluation of strategic business plans, supervision and staff development, motivations of volunteers, working with committees, and financial analysis. Experience in creation and editing both oral and written presentations, public relations and working with board committees.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work with member association executives, regulators, central bankers, and senior government officials to promote credit unions.

Language Skills: Very high language skills required including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Fluency (read, write, speak) in English and Spanish is required.

Mathematical Skills: High mathematical skills required including the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Skills: Very high reasoning skills required including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, Web and Internet utilization.

LOCATION

Washington, D.C.


TRAVEL

Up to 90 days per year, including both domestic and international travel.
