Scott Kennedy, a member of World Council of Credit Unions' board of directors, represents the Canadian credit union movement as a delegate from Credit Union Central of Canada. Headquartered in Madison, Wis., USA, World Council is the leading international trade association and development agency for credit unions. Worldwide, 56,000 credit unions in 101 countries serve 200,000,000 people. The regional and national credit union and financial cooperative associations affiliated with World Council represent 57 countries around the globe.
Mr. Kennedy has been in credit union management for 21 years. He spent the past 10 years prior to his retirement as CEO of Superior Credit Union in Thunder Bay. He serves on the board of directors of Superior Credit Union, Central 1 Credit Union, Ltd., and is the first vice chair on the board of directors of Credit Union Central of Canada. He is very active with the United Way of Thunder Bay and also with Canadian Cooperative Association’s credit union coaching program in Malawi.
Prior to joining the World Council board of directors, Scott volunteered extensively with the organization and has been attending the World Credit Union Conferences for nearly 10 years. He continues to be very involved with the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions auction along with his wife, Sandy.
