Live in a private room with a pre-screened host family to experience the daily lifestyle and cultural traditions of a Mexican family. Begin each day with four hours of Spanish language instruction customized to your ability. Spend the afternoons working at a local credit union branch to interact with management, staff and, most important, members! In addition to working side-by-side with credit union professionals, participate in various workshops to gain insight on effective strategies for reaching the Hispanic market and creating attractive products and services. Highlights - Cultural orientation upon arrival and comprehensive guide for getting around your host city.
- Hotel accommodation on the first evening (two-week program includes second hotel stay).
- Home stay with a pre-screened host family (required). Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided by the host family.
- Practical internship at a credit union branch of either Caja Morelia-Valladolid or Caja Alianza. Participants may request to work in a specific caja, and we will do our best to accommodate requests.
- Spanish classes at a qualified language school.
- Placement exam to ensure participants in the level of class most beneficial for them (from beginners to native Spanish-speakers).
- Four hours per day, Monday-Friday.
- No more than 6 people per class to guarantee individual attention.
- Includes required textbooks and class fees.
- Several cultural activities and introduction to Mexican traditions.
- Dedicated WOCCU staff person on the ground to support logistics.
- AIG Evacuation Insurance in case of emergency.
- Participation in WOCCU's second U.S-Mexico workshop on September 26.
