Nationals from neighboring countries generally do not require a visa. If you are travelling overland through Africa, visas can be obtained from Embassies or Consulates in neighboring countries. All foreign nationals require visas except those of Britain and Commonwealth countries, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden. Obtain your visa from your nearest Gambian Embassy or Consulate. Visas are usually issued for 30 days and can be extended free-of-charge by the Immigration Office in Banjul. The Gambia has recently made provisions for those travelling on last-minute bookings who require visas. If you are unable to obtain a visa prior to arriving in-country, you will be given a 24-hour visa stamp upon arrival. You must then obtain a visa from the Immigration Office in Banjul. Please verify immigration rules and regulations before you make travel plans, as they are subject to change. Resources Tourist Offices and Gambian Embassies Visa Application Form
