All passports must be valid for the period of intended stay. Visitors must hold return tickets or all required documents for further travel onward, sufficient funds for the period of stay and proof of accommodation. Citizens of the USA, Canada and most European countries do not need an entry visa. There is no minimum validity requirement from the date of entry for United States, Canadian and European passports. Independent travelers entering Romania by car (owned or rental) need to obtain a road toll badge, called RoVinieta. RoVigneta is available at any border-crossing point, postal office and most gas stations at a cost of US$3 to US$5 (valid up to seven days) or US$6 to US$8 (valid up to 30 days), depending on car type.
