History & Objectives
FENACOAC of Guatemala and the California & Nevada Credit Union Leagues established an international partnership agreement on September 28, 2009. The partnership was started as FENACOAC was looking for assistance in the areas of lobbying of legislation and regulation and with starting a deposit guarantee fund. FENACOAC also is looking to serve Guatemalan immigrants in the Los Angeles area and their families back in Guatemala. Los Angeles currently holds about 60% of the total Guatemalan immigrant population in the US. The California and Nevada leagues are also interested in FENACOAC's national credit union brand which is used by all of its member credit unions.
