The partnership was started as FEDEAC was looking for assistance in the areas of lobbying of legislation and regulation and with starting a deposit guarantee fund. FEDEAC also is looking to serve Guatemalan immigrants in the Los Angeles area and their families back in Guatemala. Los Angeles currently holds about 60% of the total Guatemalan immigrant population in the US. The California and Nevada leagues are also interested in FEDEAC's national credit union brand which is used by all of its member credit unions.
