Barbados Cooperative League Representatives Meet With NCUA
Washington, D.C. - World Council
of Credit Unions, Inc. (WOCCU) met with
representatives of the Barbados Cooperative
League; Adrian Griffith, first vice president
of
League BOD; and Wesley Brown, League
accounting/finance officer here today, ending a
full day of briefings for the Barbadians,
including visits to the National Credit Union
Administration and the Credit Union National
Association. Griffith and Brown are
visiting credit union organizations in the
Washington, D.C. area this week to explore the
U.S. models of regulation/supervision and
advocacy.
Credit unions in Barbados have a formal
relationship with Missouri credit unions through
WOCCU's International Partnership Program. The
Barbados-Missouri partnership is currently
focused on the development of a national shared
branching network and analyzing the potential
for
a second-tier corporate credit union in
Barbados.
