MADISON, Wis.—Is your credit union looking for a way to re-energize its board of directors and maximize its return on board meeting investments? World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) invites credit union boards and executive management teams to conduct strategic planning sessions in conjunction with the 2009 World Credit Union Conference. The conference convenes July 26-29 in Barcelona, Spain.
Due to current economic challenges, many credit unions are seeking new ways to keep their leadership engaged and their member service levels high. Alternative approaches to strategic planning and team building exercises, such as meeting in conjunction with the World Credit Union Conference, can more effectively bring an organization's leadership together. While attending the conference, board members will interact with their credit union peers from around the globe. They will get new ideas and different insights into credit union management techniques and strategies that can become focal points of their strategic planning meetings.
"Your board will once again understand why they volunteer and how credit unions change people's lives, both at home and in communities worldwide," said Pete Crear, WOCCU's president and CEO. "It's an investment that will return dividends to your credit union for years to come."
In addition to their credit union's strategic planning session, participants also will benefit from educational breakout sessions, networking opportunities and gaining a truly global perspective of the credit union movement. Companion programs and sightseeing day tours are also offered for board spouses and guests.
WOCCU's certified meeting professional is available to help boards secure meeting space to plan and conduct their own strategic planning sessions.
