CU Ambassador Award Presented to CUCC

Toronto, Canada—World Council of Credit Unions, Inc. (WOCCU) presented the Credit Union Ambassador Award to Credit Union Central of Canada (CUCC) at their 2004 Conference in Toronto, Canada this evening. The award recognized CUCC's 50th anniversary of providing services to Canadian credit unions.

The Credit Union Ambassador's Award recognizes the contributions of individuals or organizations for their commitment to fostering international credit union development. This award is usually granted on the occasion of a special event.

L.R. (Bobby) McVeigh, WOCCU board chairman and Canadian delegate to World Council presented the award on behalf of president and CEO Arthur Arnold and the WOCCU board of directors. McVeigh noted, "The success of the Canadian credit union system has been exceptional and today we are considered to be one of the leading Movements in the world. The future for Canadian credit unions is bright!"

CUCC board chairman, Jack Smit proudly received the award on behalf of the Canadian credit union system. Noting this is milestone for credit unions and will hopefully be one of many in the years to come.
