CCCU Appoints New CEO

The President of the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions, Mr. Christopher Samuda, takes pleasure in announcing the appointment of Mr. Courtney Lodge as the Confederation's Chief Executive Officer who assumed duties on October 17, 2006.
As the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lodge will have oversight responsibility for 18 Affiliated National Leagues and 342 Credit Unions throughout the Caribbean.
Mr. Lodge is the former General Manager of GSB Co-operative Credit Union Limited, one of the largest credit unions and the second oldest in Jamaica, and previously served for several years on the Board of Directors of the Jamaica Police Co-operative Credit Union Limited, where he held the post of Honorary Treasurer.
During his tenure as Treasurer that credit union won for the first time, the coveted award, "Credit Union of the Year" in 1999 and repeated this achievement in 2001.
He had a remarkable career in the Jamaica Constabulary Force where he attained the office of Deputy Superintendent of Police and received high commendation for meritorious service.
Before his full advent in the credit union movement, Mr. Lodge served as Manager for several Branches of the Jamaica National Building Society, which conducts business in the Caribbean, United Kingdom and the United States, and was very instrumental in effecting administrative and operational changes which resulted in unprecedented branch profitability. He served as an elected Director on the Board of Directors of the Society
Mr. Lodge has a distinguished academic career and received his Masters in Business Administration at the Nova Southeastern University of Florida and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration at the University of the District of Columbia where he obtained First Class Honours (Summa Cum Laude). He had the distinction of being on the Deans List at the University of the District of Columbia for four (4) consecutive years.
He has been the recipient of several honours and awards for academic excellence and leadership, is a distinguished Power Speaker and Change Management Consultant associated with Hamilton Knight Associates (HRD Consultants) and has presented several papers on Corporate Governance, Financial Management, Marketing and Branding and Human Resource Development in various fora in the Caribbean and extra- regionally.
Mr. Lodge speaks German fluently, is functional in French and Spanish, is married to Rosia and they are the parents of three children.
