MADISON, Wis. — An overwhelming response to the recent contest for a free registration to The 1 Credit Union Conference prompted conference co-hosts Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) to award two grand prizes of complimentary conference registrations, as well as second and third prizes of free hotel nights and the executive book series. Others who are interested in attending are encouraged to register by May 20 to receive the early bird discount of US$200.

The first grand prize winner of a free registration is Carole Wight from Holy Rosary Credit Union in Kansas City, Mo. In her contest response, Wight said: "As I have reviewed the different credit union events to attend, this one stood out as the one event that I need for the growth of my credit union." The second grand prize winner, also earning a free registration, is Michelle Jacinta Pierre-Devenish from Trinidad and Tobago Police Credit Union. Pierre-Devenish's contest response explained that she is new to credit unions and, as Operations Manager, is excited to "make a major contribution to the operational effectiveness of my credit union."

The second prize winner, with two free hotel nights to be used at the MGM Grand during the conference, is Dave Schurman from FirstOntario Credit Union in Hamilton, Ont., Canada. Taking third prize and winning the Executive Series book set is Connie Miller, CEO of Icon Credit Union in Boise, Idaho. WOCCU and CUNA thank everyone who entered the contest and congratulate all of the winners.
