International Regulator's Round Table Scheduled
Madison, WI—World Council of Credit Unions,
Inc.
recently set the date for the second
International Regulators' Round Table to be held
in conjunction with the 7th International
Leadership Institute. On August 2, 2004
international regulators will come together in an
exclusive meeting to discuss the future of credit
unions.
The agenda will cover the following topics:
the credit
union
difference, Basel II Capital Accord, accounting
standards, governance, taxation and other
regulatory items.
Regulators are further encouraged to attend the
Leadership Institute, held August 1-4. Major
issues covered by the Institute will include
identity theft, disaster planning, enhancing
marketing and sales strategies, as well as
sessions on credit union mergers. This annual
event provides a unique opportunity for
Regulators
around the world to share the most effective
regulatory
practices and experiences supervising credit
unions.
