Research Federal Credit Union CEO Appointed To International Credit Union Board

WARREN , Mich.—Catherine Roberts, president/CEO of Research Federal Credit Union, has been named to the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) Board of Directors.

Roberts has been active on the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) World Affairs Committee, now the World Leadership Committee, since its organization. In 2002 she was appointed as a U.S. delegate to the World Council General Assembly.

"I feel privileged and honored to represent credit unions in any capacity," said Roberts. "I believe strongly that co-operative credit is a precursor to democracy and individual freedom around the world."

Roberts, one of four board members from the U.S., succeeds Dave Chatfield of the California Credit Union League.

"Catherine has provided widely recognized leadership for the credit union movement in Michigan and nationally," said Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) President/CEO David Adams. "It's not surprising to see her now share her talents with the WOCCU Board. Michigan can be proud of how she will represent our credit unions on that prestigious board."

The WOCCU has members and affiliates in 84 countries. Members include regional and national credit union associations, cooperative associations, and business service organizations. Together, they represent more than 40,421 credit unions serving 123 million members.

Organized in 1934, the Michigan Credit Union League is a statewide trade association representing Michigan credit unions. Based in Northville Township with a satellite office in Lansing,
