The Roman Catholic Church receives Distinguished Service Award

(Rome, Italy) - The World Council of Credit Unions' (WOCCU) executive committee, along with WOCCU CEO Pete Crear, presented the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) to the Roman Catholic Church today at the Vatican.

Monseigneur Nicolo, the representative from the vatican prefectoral office accepted the DSA award on behalf of the Catholic Church from L.R. (Bobby) McVeigh, WOCCU board chairman.

WOCCU executive committe members participating in this private presentation included; Gary Plank (USA), Melvin Edwards (Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis), Barry Jolette (USA), Jose Manuel Rabines (Peru), Grzegorz Bierecki (Poland) and Ron Hance (USA).

Monseigneur Nicolo expressed his support of the development work credit unions do and hopes that we continue to do more collaborative work in the future. He noted he will personally present the DSA and our congratulations to the holy father later this month.
