WYCUP Scholarship Deadline is June 16
Nominate young CU professionals and volunteers for World Council scholarship
Last year's WYCUP participants shared their experiences with fellow young credit union leaders from around the world at the 2013 World Credit Union Conference in Ottawa, Canada.
MADISON, Wis. — The deadline for the World Council Young Credit Union People (WYCUP) scholarship program is approaching. Interested applicants must submit their WYCUP nominations to World Council by Monday, June 16.
Five scholarship recipients will be announced during the awards ceremony on July 30 at the 2014 World Credit Union Conference in Gold Coast, Australia. In addition to the recognition, each scholarship winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip, including conference registration fee, travel costs, hotel accommodations and meals, to attend the 2015 World Credit Union Conference in Denver, Colorado, USA.
"A top priority everywhere today is to grow young adult membership. We find tremendous insights that the industry can tap from the generation itself," said Brian Branch, World Council president and CEO. "WYCUP provides a unique opportunity to equip and motivate young credit union professionals worldwide to help attract this demographic."
The WYCUP program seeks individuals who are 35 or younger, passionate about credit unions and interested in networking with a tight-knit group of young leaders from around the world.
To be eligible for the scholarship, nominees must:
- Be 35 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2014.
- Demonstrate leadership, personal commitment and the potential to significantly influence credit unions in and outside their country.
- Be sponsored by a World Council member organization to attend the 2014 World Credit Union Conference in Australia. World Council members include organizations affiliated with any national organization belonging to World Council.
- Submit a completed nomination form and supporting materials by June 16.
- Not have been a previous WYCUP scholarship recipient.
- Not be a World Council employee.

In addition to the scholarship, conference registrants age 40 and younger qualify for a discounted registration fee and can participate in the combined WYCUP/Emerging Leaders program with Customer Owned Banking Association in Australia, regardless of whether or not they apply for the scholarship.
