World Council Receives Local Recognition

Madison, WI—The Wisconsin State Journal showcased World Council of Credit Unions' international work on the front page of the Sunday, January 14, business section.

The main article, entitled Global Positioning, highlighted World Council's international work—especially in Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Bolivia, its recent microfinance grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, World Council's International Partnerships Program and its remittances network, IRnet®. A side story discussed how World Council meets cultural challenges in Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, China and Kenya.

World Council of Credit Unions is the global trade association and development agency for credit unions.
