World Credit Union Conference Early Bird Deadline May 20Register Early and Save!
Madison, WI — World Council of Credit Unions,
Inc. (WOCCU) reminds all credit union leaders of
the approaching May 20th early bird deadline for
the first annual World Credit Union Conference,
held at the Cavalieri Hilton in Rome, Italy from
July 24-27, 2005.
"We encourage credit union leaders to register
early to take advantage of the early bird
discount pricing. Attendees can save $100 on
registration and even more if they are also
registering companions," explained Marechiel
Santos, WOCCU's meetings & special events
manager. There are also discounts for young
leaders under the age of 35 and for registrants
from developing movements.
The 2005 World Credit Union Conference brings
together CEOs, board directors, management,
volunteers, and other credit union leaders from
all over the world. The event allows these
leaders to discuss important issues for credit
union systems and provides them with best
practice approaches. WOCCU's World Credit Union
Conference provides leaders with the critical

An impressive lineup of keynote speakers
includes: Sherron Watkins, former vice president
of Corporate Development for Enron, speaking on

Enron; Jamie Caruana, chairman of the Basel
Committee on Banking and governor of the Bank of
Spain, outlining Basel II: Its Relevance for
Credit Unions; and Rob Nicholls, CEO of
Australian National Credit Union and chairman of
the CUSCAL, and Jim Blaine, president of State
Employee's Credit Union of North Carolina,
presenting Credit Union Values: A Discussion that
Needs to Happen. Also included in the program
are 20 dynamic breakout sessions covering the
topics of Strategy, Finance & Operations,
Marketing & Human Resources, and Developing
Movements.
