Helping Credit Unions Manage the Pandemic

World Council of Credit Unions has established a committee dedicated to identifying best practices and strategies that credit unions around the globe can utilize in their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Click on any of the subjects below to read how the COVID-19 Response Committee is helping credit unions mitigate the health and economic impacts of the crisis in each area.
 
Advocacy +
Advocating on behalf of credit unions in front of international standard setting bodies, and before regional- and national-level regulators to ensure compliance requirements are reasonable for credit unions and smaller community-based financial insitutions.
 
Digital Transformation +
Supporting the development and implementation of digital banking options that will allow credit unions to keep members and staff safe during the pandemic.
 
Credit Union Financial Strength +
Providing financial and institutional supports to credit unions and other financial cooperatives affiliated with World Council member associations and leagues to ensure the communities supported by our member credit unions have the necessary financial tools and supports needed to navigate this crisis.
 

Webinars

The COVID-19 Response Committee will host webinars to help credit unions deal with the impacts of the pandemic.

Our next webinar, Driving Digital Transformation in the COVID-19 Era, is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8 at 8:00 a.m. U.S. Central Standard Time (CST). It will feature presentations on:

  • Challenge 2025 and the Digitization of the Global Credit Union System. A look at World Council of Credit Unions’ goal to increase worldwide credit union membership through the offering of digital services, by Brian Branch, World Council President and CEO.
  • Digital Transformation Imperatives for Credit Unions. Credit union advocate and technology thought-leader Mark Sievewright will provide his perspectives on how financial services will change, and the strategies needed for credit unions to survive and thrive. Digital transformation topics covered in this session will include data processing; online and mobile banking solutions; innovations in payment systems; data analytics and the delivery of seamless member experiences.
