World Council Supporters
World Council supporter contributions provide much needed relief to credit unions and
their members after disasters, address priority needs and foster
innovation throughout the international credit union system.
World Council's International Partnerships program facilitates technical
exchanges between developed and emerging credit union movements that
provide life-changing experiences for participants and help credit
unions improve the lives of their members worldwide.
Global Women's Leadership Network
Women are on the front lines in the fight against global poverty, and
credit unions are natural mechanisms to develop women's leadership
capacity in this fight. Even so, women continue to hold a minority
of credit union leadership positions and have few resources available
advice, networking or mentorship. The Global Women's Leadership Network helps raise awareness, provides a forum for networking
and raises funds so that women with the greatest financial need will
have access to the same resources.
World Council of Credit Unions' Young Credit Union People Program (WYCUP) is an annual
scholarship program for individuals 35 and under. It is designed to
engage and promote the next generation of credit union professionals
and volunteers in the international credit union movement. Winners
receive an all-expense-paid trip to the following year’s World Credit
Credit union achievements across the world would not be possible
without the talents, tireless dedication and commitment of individuals
and organizations that have strived to make the vision of "building a global community" a reality. World Council recognizes these efforts
with its Distinguished Service Award, World Council Young Credit Union People
Scholarship, Credit Union Ambassador Award and Resolutions.
International Credit Union Regulators' Network
The International Credit Union Regulators’ Network was formed in
2007 during the 5th annual Credit Union Regulators’ Roundtable. The
purpose of the Network is to share information and ideas on topics of
common interest among credit unions and financial cooperative
supervisors and to undertake research on specific issues or topics
related to financial cooperatives and their oversight.
