Kazakhstan Agro-Industrial Association Joins World Council
Newest Member Expands Global Reach

MADISON, Wis. — The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) Board of Directors unanimously approved the membership application for the Credit Unions of Agro-Industrial Association of Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2018.
"Extending our welcome to the first ever member from Kazakhstan to World Council’s membership base, we support their active participation and are pleased to continually expand the reach of the global credit union movement,” said Brian Branch, World Council president and CEO.
Established in 2013, the Kazakhstan Agro-Industrial Association provides representation, advocacy, promotion, information, education, training and marketing services for credit unions in Kazakhstan. The Association is member dues-driven and the only credit union association in Kazakhstan, representing 124 credit unions. The affiliated credit unions serve 16,000 members and have US $250 million in assets. There are 871 registered credit unions in Kazakhstan.
The Kazakhstan Agro-Industrial Association will access World Council international advocacy assistance in improving the legislative framework for credit unions in Kazakhstan.
As a WOCCU member, the Kazakhstan Agro-Industrial Association will attend World Council’s Annual General Meeting to be held July 16, 2018 in Singapore.
