MADISON, Wis. — Business growth guru Jim Collins, author of Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Others Don't, will keynote The 1 Credit Union Conference. The event, a joint effort between World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) and Credit Union National Association (CUNA), will convene July 11-14 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev., USA.
Collins, a former Stanford Graduate School of Business professor, was already an influential management consultant when Good to Great hit the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Business Week bestseller lists in 2001. The book has since been translated into 35 languages and has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. Collins' latest work, How the Mighty Fall and Why Some Companies Never Give In, was released in May 2009.
Collins, who accepts very few speaking engagements, will address a credit union audience for the first time in his career. A consummate researcher, Collins will work to thoroughly understand the global credit union sector with assistance from CUNA and WOCCU prior to his July presentation.
Collins will anchor the Monday morning session of the four-day conference, which combines CUNA's America's Credit Union Conference and WOCCU's World Credit Union Conference. For more information and to register for the event, visit: www.vegas2010.org.
