European Network of Credit Unions (ENCU) in Croatia to Urge Support for Financial Inclusion Measures
ZAGREB, Croatia—The European Network of Credit Unions (ENCU) and World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) joined the Croatian Credit Union Association this week to convince key policymakers in Croatia’s capital to address the regulatory challenges preventing credit unions from maximizing their ability to reach underserved communities.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) is pleased to announce in October it will begin implementing the new Accelerating Growth and Inclusion in Lending for Credit Unions (AGIL4CU) Project, a five-year, $9.3 million initiative funded through the USAID Cooperative Development Program in Burkina Faso, Kenya, Senegal and Guatemala.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) sent a letter Thursday addressing the implementation of a Basel III proportionality framework to establish a simpler and more reasonable approach for credit unions to leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Financial Services Committee.

USAID/WOCCU Study Shows Venezuelan Refugees and Migrants with Professional Backgrounds Struggle to Find Work in Ecuador
QUITO, Ecuador—A research study conducted by the USAID/World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) Economic Inclusion Project (EIP) shows nearly 40% of Venezuelan refugees and migrants who arrived in Ecuador with professional certifications are still unemployed, with just 19% successfully revalidating those certifications in their new host country.
