Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) on the evening of July 14 hosted its most anticipated annual gathering—the UnWind event—set this year against the breathtaking backdrop of Stockholm’s iconic Vasa Museum.

With 328 attendees from around the world, the evening served as both a celebration of our global champions and a meaningful moment to raise funds for our mission of advancing financial inclusion worldwide.

Guests were treated to a private guided tour of the historic 17th-century Vasa warship, an awe-inspiring symbol of resilience and restoration that mirrors the spirit of the global credit union community. The tour was followed by an elegant three-course dinner, complete with the soft ambiance of live harp music, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

The evening’s most memorable highlight? A live painting of the UnWind scene, brought to life during the event itself. This one-of-a-kind piece of artwork captured the energy, color, and emotion of the evening—and quickly became the centerpiece of a charity auction. The winning bid of $8,500 was placed by Mark Meyer, CEO of the Filene Research Institute, with proceeds supporting WFCU’s global financial inclusion efforts.

And the generosity didn’t stop there. WFCU Board Member Sue Mitchell took the mic and inspired the crowd to dig even deeper—raising an additional $5,000 in live pledges before the night was over.

From meaningful conversations to unforgettable visuals, UnWind was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we come together as a cooperative community. Thank you to everyone who attended, supported and shared in this mission.

Together, we continue to #DoGlobalGood.
