Liz Stanislawski
Director of Communications
Liz Stanislawski serves as Director of Communications for the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), where she leads the organization’s global corporate communications strategy, advocacy messaging and brand positioning. In this role, she oversees trade association communications across news and digital content, executive communications, global media engagement, annual and impact reporting, and major international convenings including the World Credit Union Conference and International Credit Union Day. She also partners closely with the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions to strengthen unified enterprise communications across the global movement.
Stanislawski brings more than 15 years of experience spanning journalism, nonprofit, government, higher education and healthcare sectors. Prior to joining WOCCU, she served as a senior communications leader at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she led executive communications and strategic messaging for a 150-person division. Her portfolio included executive speechwriting, crisis and change communications, media relations and integrated digital campaigns designed to translate complex policy and institutional priorities into clear, compelling narratives.
She began her career in journalism as a producer, reporter and editor, developing a foundation in human-centered storytelling and editorial rigor that continues to shape her leadership approach. Known for her ability to synthesize complex global policy and advocacy issues into accessible messaging for members, partners and policymakers, she brings both strategic discipline and creative clarity to her work.
Based in Wisconsin, Stanislawski is passionate about advancing financial inclusion through cooperative finance and elevating the global credit union movement’s voice, influence and impact.
