Lauren Jones
International Advocacy Associate
Lauren Jones serves as an Advocacy Associate for the World Council of Credit Unions, where she supports international advocacy and policy engagement efforts focused on strengthening the regulatory and policy environment for credit unions and cooperative financial institutions worldwide. In this role, she contributes to legal research, policy analysis and stakeholder engagement efforts that advance WOCCU’s broader advocacy priorities across the global credit union movement.
Lauren brings a diverse legal and international background spanning commercial law, judicial research and global policy exposure. Prior to joining WOCCU, she worked in private legal practice, where she represented and advised clients across a broad commercial portfolio, helping organizations manage risk and move matters forward efficiently. She also previously worked with the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Virginia Court of Appeals, building experience in legal research, policy analysis and judicial processes.
Lauren’s international perspective was further shaped through her work with UNIDROIT in Rome, as well as earlier experiences teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in Thailand, Mongolia, China, Cambodia and Jordan. These experiences continue to inform her people-first approach to policy, advocacy and global engagement.
Known for her thoughtful, collaborative and personable approach, Lauren brings both legal rigor and a strong global perspective to her work. She earned her law degree from Elon University School of Law.
