World Council Applauds International Accounting Standards Board Proposal to Update IFRS for SMEs

MADISON, Wis.—The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) of the IFRS Foundation this month issued proposals to update the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard—a step long-advocated for by World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) as a way to reduce regulatory burdens for credit unions when implementing IFRS 9, or CECL as it is known in the United States.

SECU Pledges $300,000 to Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions to Address Global Issues of Inclusion, Safety, Gender and Leadership

RALEIGH, N.C.—State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) announces its continued commitment to Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU), the engagement and charitable arm of the World Council of Credit Unions, by committing $300,000 to the organization’s Global Bridges program. Aimed at engaging credit unions across the globe to learn, share and solve pressing global issues, Global Bridges will use the funds to specifically address gaps in inclusion, safety, gender and leadership in its member credit unions.
