Representatives from two World Council Associate Member organizations joined our Global Women's Leadership Network (GWLN) for a July 3 webinar on the ways credit union women across the globe have responded to challenges presented by COVID-19.

Hosted by the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Association (ACCOSCA), more than 100 people attended the webinar. It focused on the ways women are engaged and are part of the solution in helping credit unions navigate disruptions caused by the pandemic.

Global Women's Leadership Network Program Director Eleni Giakoumopoulous gave the keynote address, focusing on the role of women in leadership and the growth of GWLN.

Elenita San Roque, CEO of the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) gave a presentation on the initiatives women in Asia are taking to improve their social and economic power—while women from credit unions in Kenya, Nigeria and Malawi shared their experiences of dealing with the disruption in Africa.

Grace Sharon Watsiera, head of programs for ACCOSCA, also led a question and answer session for those in attendance that focused on the way forward.

You can watch the webinar in its entirety on the ACCOSCA YouTube Channel.
