WOCCU COVID-19 Response Committee Hosts First Webinar

World Council of Credit Unions' (WOCCU) COVID-19 Response Committee held its first in a bimonthly series of webinars on Thursday, September 17. The Current Status of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Future of International Cooperative Work featured presentations on:

  • The current status of COVID-19 and a global perspective on the outlook of the pandemic, by Dongil Ahn, Visiting Professor, Yeonsei University Graduate School of Public Health, and former WHO representative in Cambodia and Lao PDR,
  • Present and future international work related to the virus, by Gooson Kwon, Professor of Global Development Cooperation at Seoul Cyber University.

WOCCU partnered with the National Credit Union Federation of Korea (NACUFOK) to bring this webinar to a global audience of credit union professionals. NACUFOK CEO Younsik Kim serves Chair of the WOCCU COVID-19 Response Committee.

"Credit unions around the world are being affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the daily lives and health of credit union employees are at risk. We need to find ways to overcome this crisis as a global movement. I think that's why you're joining today's webinar. I hope the webinar provides you with valuable insight," Kim told attendees.

You can watch the webinar in its entirety on the World Council of Credit Unions' YouTube page.
