Panya Monford

Advocacy Counsel

Panya Monford currently serves as Assistant General Counsel for International Advocacy, where she engages in advocacy on behalf of credit unions worldwide before the various international standard setting bodies, such as the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, Financial Action Task Force and others.

Panya has over ten years of experience as a consumer financial services attorney specializing in enforcement, litigation, regulatory and compliance matters involving various financial institutions, including banks, credit unions and other credit lending institutions. Panya has considerable experience advising her clients on various issues related to financial services, including but not limited to consumer protection, anti-money laundering, contracts and international law.

Panya rounds out her legal experience with 14 years of Board level experience at not-for-profit organizations, including the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children, where she provides legal advice, drafts and reviews contracts, oversees all corporate governance issues and manages the legal team. Panya holds her Juris Doctor from The Catholic University, Columbus School of Law, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.
